Must-See Highlights from the New York Auto Show

The New York International Auto Show features the world’s top automakers and showcases their newest vehicles and futuristic concept cars. If you’re planning a trip to the auto show this weekend, here are some must-see highlights from Press Preview Day.

For Sports Lovers

Sports lovers, be sure to stop by the Toyota exhibit, they wrapped four of their vehicles with logos from New York’s four major sport teams : Jets, Giants, Mets and Yankees

Self Driving Cars

Jaguar Land Rover partnered with Waymo to create the world’s first premium self driving electric vehicle. People will be able to request a ride in a self-driving Waymo Jaguar I-PACE using a Waymo app, just like they would with Uber or Lift.

Subscription Services for Cars

Millennials, stop by the Volvo exhibit and find out about their special subscription service, Care by Volvo. It includes one monthly car payment, insurance payment and after 1 year you can upgrade to a new car.

 

Family Fun

Ford had several fun interactive exhibits, perfect for families. See a life-size LEGO Race Car Driver and customize your own LEGO Minifigure. You can also strike a pose and be photoshopped into a Mustang BULLITT Movie Poster that will be emailed to you.

Kids from 3-8 years old can drive a mini go-kart version of the Polaris Slingshot on a mini track. On your mark, get set, go!

Kids are not the only ones who can take test drive at the show, discover the Camp Jeep Ride & Drive outside the Javits Center where you can test the Jeep’s capabilities and conquer steep hills.

Every kid loves Hot Wheels collectible toy cars, experience a life-size version when you see Camaro’s 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels edition. This car is a legend in any scale!

Steve Hale from TV show American Restoration and Steven’s Restoration and Hot Rods, will be signing posters and taking pictures with fans. See his custom Humvee he built for Feed Our Vets , a charity that supplies food pantries for homeless veterans. Bid on this awesome vehicle at the Saratoga Auto Museum auction on September 22-23rd.

Movie Inspired

Check out Lara Croft’s ride from the new Tomb Raider movie, the Volvo XC40. Be sure to capture a photo of this iconic vehicle from this box office hit.

Keeping it Classic

While many people are here to see the newest 2019 models before they hit the showroom floor, many people love checking out the classic cars. Saratoga Automobile Museum had several of their cars on display.

Dream Cars

Luxury cars like Bently, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and Maserati are the type of cars an average Joe dreams about. Enjoy seeing these extravagant cars up font, and don’t forget to take a selfie to make your friends on social media jealous!

Lamborghini is celebrating its 100th anniversary by releasing a $4 million dollar Lamborghini Centenario. This model is 100% carbon and goes zero-to-60 in only 2.9 seconds!

Meet a Race Car Driver

Meet professional drifter and stunt driver  Fredric Aasbø originally from Ski, Norway. See his Team Toyota race car up close and personal.
